For the salmon bites:

  • Olive Oil: Helps the spices stick and creates a slight crisp in the air fryer.

  • Paprika, Garlic Powder, Salt & Pepper: A simple seasoning blend that packs flavor.

For the bang bang sauce:

  • Mayonnaise: The creamy base—use regular or a lighter version.

  • Sweet Chili Sauce: Adds a touch of sweetness and heat.

  • Sriracha: For spice! Adjust the amount based on your heat preference.

  • Honey: Balances the flavors with a little extra sweetness.

How to Make bang bang salmon bites:

  1. Preheat Your Air Fryer:
Set it to 400°F so it’s hot and ready when the salmon goes in.

  2. Season the Salmon:
Toss the salmon bites with olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Make sure every piece is well coated.

  3. Mix the Sauce:
In a separate bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, Sriracha, honey, and lime juice. Adjust spice and sweetness to taste.

  4. Toss with Sauce (Part 1):
Set aside half the sauce for serving later. Toss the raw, seasoned salmon in the remaining sauce—just enough to coat each piece.

  5. Air Fry in Batches:
Arrange salmon bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Don’t overcrowd! Cook for 4–5 minutes, flip, then cook another 4–5 minutes until crispy and fully cooked (internal temp of 140–145°F).

  6. Drizzle & Garnish:
Transfer salmon bites to a serving plate. Drizzle with the reserved Bang Bang sauce and sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.

tips & tricks for the best results

Pat the Salmon Dry First: If your salmon is a little wet, blot it with paper towels before seasoning. This helps it get nice and crisp in the air fryer.

Don’t Overcrowd the Basket: Cook in batches if needed! Overcrowding will cause the salmon to steam instead of crisp.

Want Extra Crisp? Add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch to the seasoning mix before tossing the salmon. It helps create a golden, slightly crunchy exterior.

No Air Fryer? No Problem: You can bake the salmon on a lined sheet pan at 425°F for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through.

Make It a Meal: Serve over jasmine rice or in lettuce cups for a low-carb option. Add avocado, shredded cabbage, or pickled onions for texture and balance.

Serving ideas

  • Appetizer: Serve with toothpicks and extra sauce on the side.

  • Rice Bowls: Add steamed rice, cucumber, and a drizzle of extra sauce.

  • Tacos: Load into tortillas with slaw and lime crema.

  • Wraps or Salads: Fresh greens, Bang Bang salmon, and crunchy toppings = perfect lunch.
